Do you know what I miss?

I miss old school blogging. I miss sitting down at my computer and typing out my thoughts, throwing in life updates galore, and going on about what creative projects I’m working on.

I equally miss sitting down to read an internet friend’s latest post. I miss reading about their day or their week, getting an inside view of how they’re parenting alongside their business or starting a new hobby.

I miss the days when every piece of content didn’t have to be this value heavy piece of marketing fodder.

I mean, don’t get me wrong… I love marketing. It’s been my bread and butter for the last half of a decade. It’s how I put food on the table for many years, and I genuinely love down-in-the-gut good marketing.

But not everything needs to create value.

Not everything on the internet needs to exist to feed the content machine.

Some days I miss a time when the idea of someone’s thoughts and secret feelings and passions and excitement about life was the value. You didn’t have to teach someone something special. You weren’t expected to break down every concept into digestible tips for the masses.

You could simply exist and put your words out into the world, and people would find you and follow along.

So maybe I’ll do a little more of that here. On my blog. In my space.
